By chrishansson , March 1, in Logic Pro. I'm having issues hearing the input while Logic is in playback. I'm using the line-in on both computers.

For some reason I recall this being available in previous versions of Logic prior to 9. It's very useful and have found myself playing less because I can't monitor input while Logic is playing, making it difficult to hear what I'm playing in context.

I've troubleshooted as best I can using different computers, new HD, and reinstalls, but I suppose I could try earlier versions, albeit a workaround. Mac mini 3. Turned off I get no monitor in playback. Turned on, same thing. If it is off- I hit play- turn Software Monitoring on while playing- then I can hear myself during playback..

  There is an “I” button next to the “R” record button, both in the track and on the channel strip. This is for input monitoring. › software-monitoring. Just select the "I" input monitoring. When you hit record, the track will arm. When you stop, it will unarm and it will always pass audio thru.
